Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center

Treatments and research for patients with cancer at UCLA Medical Center are provided at the renowned Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center.  Medical centers depend on philanthropy to supplement monies allotted for research.  The Annenberg foundation, I briefly mentioned in my blog dated January 20, is supporting studies at UCLA, of brain function in patients with risk of Alzheimer’s disease.  Studies will include positron emission tomography (PET) scanning, genetic risk assessment and functional magnetic imaging.

Head and neck studies from a patient with cancer from UCLA's site.  PET images are on the top, CT images are in the middle and PET/CT are on the bottom rows.  The Annenberg foundation supports nonprofit organizations.  http://www.annenbergfoundation.org/about-foundation/our-story
