San Francisco Bay region is home to approximately
7.15 million people. The
nine-county Bay Area contains many cities, towns, airports, and city, state,
and national parks that are connected by a network of roads, highways,

Although Golden Gate Bridge is the most
famous there are four more in the Bay area that locals and tourists use in
their daily commutes.
The San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge also known
as the Bay Bridge is a complex of
bridges and the direct road route between San Francisco and Oakland. It opened
to traffic on November 12, 1936. During the 1989 earthquake a section of the
upper deck collapsed onto the lower deck and the bridge was closed for a month.
The new bridge opened September 2, 2013 and is currently the world's widest bridge.
