The return

The city of Columbus and its airport John Glenn International.

On the taxiway.  The control tower is seen on the left.

On the way to New York at dusk.  The curvature of the Earth hopefully will convince the Flat Earth society members to change their minds.

I am now in the land of the blue skies and seas, the land I was born at and I call home.

The end......almost

All travels come to an end and our trip was not an exception.  It ended approximately a month after we left our base camp in Ohio.  The length of our blog was twice as long as we provided additional information about cities, sites and institutions such as universities that we visited therefore it lasted approximately two months.   Several of the people who followed us commented or emailed asking us to continue and I plan to do so during my stay in Greece.  I am not sure about the frequency of future posts but when I visit interesting sites or because of their historical significance or natural beauty, I will upload information and pictures.  I expect to make a post every 10-14 days.
John and I would like to thank all of you the loyal followers from all over the world and wish to tell you that we were able to communicate only a small part of the natural beauty, history and rich culture of the United States.

This land is your land This land is my land
From California to the New York island;
From the red wood forest to the Gulf Stream waters
This land was made for you and Me.
As I was walking that ribbon of highway,
I saw above me that endless skyway:
I saw below me that golden valley:
This land was made for you and me.
I've roamed and rambled and I followed my footsteps
To the sparkling sands of her diamond deserts;
And all around me a voice was sounding:
This land was made for you and me.
When the sun came shining, and I was strolling,
And the wheat fields waving and the dust clouds rolling,
As the fog was lifting a voice was chanting:
This land was made for you and me.
As I went walking I saw a sign there
And on the sign it said "No Trespassing."
But on the other side it didn't say nothing,
That side was made for you and me.
In the shadow of the steeple I saw my people,
By the relief office I seen my people;
As they stood there hungry, I stood there asking
Is this land made for you and me?
Nobody living can ever stop me,
As I go walking that freedom highway;
Nobody living can ever make me turn back
This land was made for you and me.

Flying

We barely escaped the arctic air that will dominate the weather in the northern United States.  We elected to fly to Florida where the temperature is a balmy 72 degrees Fahrenheit or 22 degrees Celsius at 10pm.
