Kos

Kos is the largest town of the island with the same name that belongs in the Dodecanese group of islands in southeast Aegean Archipelago.
The name Kos (Greek: Κῶς) is first found in Iliad in which Homer writes that a contingent from Kos fought for the Greeks in the Trojan War.  The Dorians invaded it in the 11th century BC, establishing a colony with settlers from Epidaurus whose Asclepius cult made their new home famous for its sanatoria.   Asclepeion is the historic site where the God of Medicine practiced his healing art.
Hippocrates tree is a maple allegedly planted by the father of medicine.
Kefalos is one of the many beautiful beaches on the island.
Kastri is a little island in close proximity to Kos that be visited by boat from Kefalos.
Kos was known for its vineyards since antiquity still produces high quality wines.
I stayed at hotel Atlantica during my visit at Kos.  It offers amenities and services that made Kos a favorite destination to Greeks and international visitors alike.
